Women's Track and Field: Raiders Host Stark County Challenge to Open Outdoor Season

ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union women's track and field team got the outdoor season started hosting the Stark County Challenge Friday afternoon at Kehres Stadium.
 
Laney Duff begins the outdoor season with a win in the women's high jump with a leap of 5-feet 5.75-inches which is the top spot in Division III. Makenna Oszust and Audrey Butler finished tied for third with a leap of 4-feet 11-inches.
 
Mackenzie Davis began the outdoor season with a win in the women's long jump leaping 18-feet 9.75-inches which is the second-best jump in Division III this season so far. Maddie Eldridge and Madeline Burgess took second and third with leaps of 17-feet 8.75-inches and 16-feet 9.25-inches.
 
Mount Union took the top four spots in the women's 400-Meters with Davis winning the event with a time of 1:01.16. Maria Albert (1:02.74), Melanie Plecko (1:02.84) and Ryanne Abernathy (1:04.43) finished second through fourth.
 
Aanika Sommers won the women's 100-Meter hurdle final with a time of 15.72.
 
Annalyse Ames won the women's pole vault with a leap of 10-feet 2-inches while her teammate Jessica Mason grabbed the same height finishing second.
 
Makenna Rudy grabbed runner-up honors in the women's shot put with a toss of 40-feet 5-inches while Briah Daniel grabbed fourth with a toss of 36-feet 6.25-inches.
 
Reese Osborn finished second in the women's hammer throw with a toss of 150-feet 8-inches.

Shanaray Kager finished second in the discus throw with a toss of 128-feet 7-inches.
 
Mount Union finished third through fifth in the women's 800-Meter dash with Ashley Eberhardt (2:23.46), Cora Liskai (2:27.92) and Kristen Walters (2:28.75).

Katelyn Eberhardt finished third in the javelin with a toss of 91-feet 11-inches.
 
Kalie Campbell took home fourth in the women's 100-Meter dash with a time of 13.27.
 
Next weekend Mount Union will head to Cedarville on Saturday to compete in the Yellow Jacket Open.
