WINSTOM-SALEM, N.C. –
Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W. Va. / Wheeling Central Catholic) became the first Mount Union athlete to earn four All-American honors at one Track and Field Championship Saturday at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships at the JDL Fast Track.
The Purple Raiders finished tied for 11th overall in the team score with 17 points and Loras winning with a score of 59 points.
On the track, Wayt suited up to run four event finals and grabbed All-American honors in each event. She ran the 60-meters (eighth, 7.70), 200-meter (sixth, 25.16), 400-meters (eighth, 59.26), and the 4x400-meter relay (seventh, 3:53.58). Wayt now has six All-American honors in her career.
In the 4x400-meter relay Wayt was joined by
Micah Donley (Carrollton),
Cortni Arp (Copley) and
Madison Miles (Brunswick Hills / Padua Franciscan) who finished seventh with a time of 3:53.58. This being the third All-American honors for Arp and Miles and the second for Donley
Kennady Gibbins (Navarre / Fairless) finished 15th in the high jump with a leap of 5-feet 3.25-inches.
Mount Union had two other All-American honors as Gibbins in the pentathlon and
Lauren Roncone (North Canton / Hoover) in the long jump both finished fourth on Friday.
