AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Mount Union's baseball team lost 5-4 to Grove City (Pa.) Saturday morning at Lake Myrtle Park.
The Purple Raiders (2-4) were down 1-0 as CJ Saylor hit a solo home run for the Wolverines (7-3) in the top of the first.
Mount Union rallied with three runs in the third all on Nate Duliba (Berea / Berea-Midpark) as he drove in two runs on a double then while stealing third, the throw was wide, and he scored himself to give the Raiders a 3-1 advantage.
Saylor hit his second solo home run in the fifth to get Grove City to within a run at 3-2 then the Wolverines but three more on the board in seventh to take a 5-3 lead.
Duliba once again tried to rally Mount Union but his RBI single in the seventh was it and the Raiders lost 5-4.
Tate Ostrowski scattered seven Mount Union hits over eight innings to get the win while Evan Umland pitched a scoreless ninth for his third save of the season.
Colin Skufka (Wooster) took the loss in relief for Mount Union.
The Raiders are back in action Sunday morning with a game against Anna Maria (Mass.).
