ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's tennis team took two of three doubles matches and three singles matches to claim a 5-4 win over Marietta Sunday at Whitehill Courts in Alliance.

The duo of freshman Abby Franks (Canton / Canton South) and sophomore Emma Thornton (Youngstown / Cardinal Mooney) claimed three of the five points for the Purple Raiders (2-6, 1-4 OAC) as they combined to win No. 1 doubles then each won their singles matches at No. 1 and No. 2 positions respectively.

Freshman Jenna Hinkle (Copley) was also part of the other two Mount Union points as she and sophomore Sydney Scotford (Poland / Poland Seminary) won No. 2 doubles and Hinkle scored the deciding point in a three-set win at No. 4 singles.

Mount Union's next match is Saturday, April 23, at 1 p.m. against Ohio Northern at Whitehill Courts on campus.
