ZANESVILLE, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's tennis team suffered a 6-3 defeat to Muskingum in an Ohio Athletic Conference match Sunday at Zanesville High School.

Muskingum (5-8, 1-3 OAC) swept the doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead then held off the Purple Raiders (1-5, 0-3 OAC) rally in singles play.

Mount Union's three points all came in singles matches as Emma Thornton (Youngstown / Cardinal Mooney) won at No. 2, Sydney Scotford (Poland / Poland Seminary) won at No. 3 and Gretchen Koken (Harmony, Pa. / Seneca Valley) at No. 6 singles.

The Raiders next host Baldwin Wallace in an OAC match Wednesday, April 6 at 3:30 p.m. at Whitehill Tennis Courts on campus.
