ADA, Ohio– Mount Union's men's lacrosse team fell in the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament quarterfinals to Ohio Northern 15-6 Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson stadium.
The Purple Raiders (8-8) were lead by Logan Gebhart (McDonald, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) who scored two goals.
Eli Ciott (Canonsburg, Pa. / Linsly), Alek Kungle (Canton / Lake), Connor Addison (Mishawaka, Ind. / South Bend), and Clay Barkan (Chagrin Falls / Kenston) each scored a goal.
Ohio Northern (12-4 OAC) was led by Ben Gawronski who scored four goals.
Ohio Northern got on the board with the first two goals but a Gebhart cut the lead in half. Ohio Northern scored three more goals before Ciotti got a goal for the Raiders. Ohio Northern finished off the quarter with another goal to lead 6-2 after one quarter of play.
The second quarter saw Ohio Northern start with a goal but Gebhart scored his second of the day right after. Ohio Northern finished the quarter off with two goals taking a 9-3 lead into the halftime.
The third quarter saw Ohio Northern and Mount Union score two goals with the Raiders goals coming from Kungle and Addison.
Ohio Northern outscored Mount Union 4-1 over the final period with Barkan getting the goal for the Raiders.
Kyle Reihner (Scranton, Pa. / Scranton Prep) finished with 15 saves adding to his school record for saves in a season which finishes at 247.
Mount Union ends its season at 8-8 overall and 4-5 in the OAC.
