Raiders Finish Sixth Overall At NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships

GENEVA, Ohio—Brit McCauley (Ontario) and Madison Miles (Padua / Padua Franciscan) earned All-American honors in their individual events while Miles, Kennady Gibbins (Navarre / Fairless), Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W. Va. / Wheeling Central) and Mary Mason (Alliance / Marlington) earned All-American honors in the 4x400-meter relay at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships Saturday afternoon.
 
The Purple Raiders had their second-best outdoor performance as a team placing sixth overall with a total of 24 points just one point behind Gustavus Adolphus in fifth place.
 
The ladies in the 4x400-meter relay finished in a school record time of 3:43.88 earning fourth overall.
 
This was Gibbins third All-American honor on the weekend and her sixth career award. Miles picked up two All-American awards on the day and has five for her career. Wayt now has seven All-American awards which is second overall in Mount Union women's track and field history and Mason picks up her first All-American honor in her career.
 
Miles competed in the 400-meters running a personal best of 55.24 earning her sixth place and her first outdoor All-American honor in the event.  
 
McCauley outkicked three different athletes finishing eighth overall in the 1,500-meters with a time of 4:32.17 earning her first All-American award.

On Thursday Lauren Roncone (North Canton / hoover) grabbed All-American honors placing sixth in the long jump with this being her third All-American honor. Gibbins won the Heptathlon with the fifth most points scored in Division III history and she finished All-American in the high jump placing seventh. 
 
Loras won the women's team battle with a total of 55 points while UW-Lacrosse finished in second with 51.
