GENEVA, Ohio—Senior
Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W. Va. / Wheeling Central Catholic) set two school record Saturday afternoon at Spire Institute besting her own records in the 200 and 600-meters.
Wayt broke her own 200 record running 24.75 seconds besting it by .22 seconds finishing third in the race to girls outside of the Division III giving her the top time in NCAA Division III Track and Field.
Wayt then came back and ran the 600-meters finishing second with a time of 1:33.45 beating the previous record by over six seconds held by Sarah Mason from 2019.
Wayt also ran the 60-meters running 7.70 in the prelims which sits her fourth in all of Division III track and field.
Junior
Madison Miles (Padua / Padua Franciscan) picked up the victory in the 400-meters running a 57.32 sitting her in eight in Division III.
Senior
Kennady Gibbins (Navarre / Fairless) took second with a leap of 5-feet 6-inches in the high jump good for fifth in Division III, won the long jump with 17-feet 6.25-inches and grabbed third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.13.
Junior Gia Venuto (Ravenna / Southeast) took home the victory in the 3,000-meters with a time of 10:31.73.
Sophomore
Mary Mason (Alliance / Marlington) finished third in the 800-meters with a time of 2:19.05 which is currently good for 20th in Division III.
Freshman Makayla Sitzlar (Sugarcreek / Garaway) finished second in the shot put with a throw of 39-feet 10.25-inches.
Junior
Lauren Roncone (North Canton / Hoover) took third place in the long jump with a distance of 17-feet 1.75-inches.
Mount Union now splits between the Penn State meet hosted on Jan. 27-28 at University Park, Pa. or at Baldwin Wallace on Jan. 28.
