ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union women's basketball team was defeated 90-47 in Ohio Athletic Conference play at No. 18 Ohio Northern Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders (6-13, 3-9 OAC) were led on offense by sophomore
Dae Dae Nash (Akron / Buchtel) scoring nine points.
Ohio Northern (17-2, 11-1 OAC) was led by Jada Benjamin with 16 points.
Mount Union jumped out to a quick 9-3 lead. Ohio Northern bounced back with a 7-0 run to take the lead but Mount Union hit another bucket to lead 11-10. Ohio Northern finished the quarter on a 13-2 run to take a 23-13 lead after one quarter.
Ohio Northern began the second quarter on a 19-2 run which gave them a 42-15 lead. Mount Union could not get closer than 26 the rest of the quarter down 51-19 at the half.
Mount Union got within 28 twice in the second half but could not start a big enough comeback as Ohio Northern won 90-47
Mount Union will stay on the road heading to Berea to take on No. 10 Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
