INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana-- Mount Union's men's cross country team will compete in the 2023 NCAA Division III Championships Saturday, November 18 at Big Spring High School in Newville, Pennsylvania.
 
The men earned their spot to the national meet with a third-place finish in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional yesterday at Norton, Ohio.
 
The Purple Raiders will be making its 23rd appearance at the national meet and the team won the 1974 NCAA Division III National title.
 
Senior Jeff Joseph (Beloit / West Branch) and junior Vincent Giumenti (Dover) led the Purple Raiders this weekend finishing 7th and 11th. Both gentlemen qualified to the previous two cross country championship. Joseph will be making his fourth trip to the national meet as he qualified to the national meet his freshman year.
 
Senior Mason Kutz (Dalton), junior Nick Wong (Akron / Hoban) and sophomore Stephan Ulrich (Louisville) will be making their second straight appearance while junior Alex Reese (Geneva) and redshirt freshman Liam Blake (Alliance / Marlington) will be making their first appearance.
