ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union women's basketball team lost 70-55 to the Otterbein Cardinals in their final regular season game in the Timken Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders (8-17, 5-13 OAC) were led by senior
Emma Cannon (Dalton) who scored 13 points. Senior
Madison Hensley (Blacklick/Gahnna Lincoln) finished the game with 11 points.
Otterbein (17-9, 12-6 OAC) were led by Kathleen DeCarlo with 16 points. Maizie King's 15 points and Katie McCrary's 11 also helped their team to victory.
Mount Union got off to a good start leading 13-8 but Muskingum finished on a 13-6 run to take a 21-19 lead after the first quarter.
Otterbein extended its lead in the second quarter outscoring Mount Union 17-10 to take a 38-29 lead at the halftime break.
Over the final two quarters Mount Union got within seven points with the score being 40-33 but Otterbein would lengthen it our to 19 towards the final buzzer.
Mount Union concludes its 2022-23 season.
