Men's Volleyball: Raiders Complete Undefeated Weekend

MEQUON, Wisconsin—Mount Union's men's volleyball team defeated MSOE and host Concordia Wisconsin at the CUW Invite Saturday afternoon.
 
In the first match Mount Union (7-1) beat MSOE (2-4) 18-25, 25-15, 25-19 and 25-21. Junior Jack McClure (Massillon / Massillon Jackson) led the Purple Raiders in hitting with 12 kills while senior Cameron Ternent (Canal Fulton / Massillon Jackson) and Luke Trzeciak (Cranberry, Pa. / Seneca Valley) finished with 10 and nine kills.
 
Sophomore Will Heeney (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) finished with 34 assists while freshman Michael Bowler (Broadview Heights / Brecksville-Broadview Heights) finished with four assisted blocks and two solo.
 
Ternent finished the game with a double-double as he had 11 digs while sophomore Aaron Armour (Waukesha, Wis. / Catholic Memorial) finished with a game high 14 digs.
 
Mount Union had less kills with 45 kills to MSOE's 50 but Mount Union had 10 less errors and having a hitting percentage of .248 to MSOE's .167.
 
In the second game Mount Union beat Concordia (Wis.) (3-1) in five sets with scores of 25-23, 25-19, 18-25, 23-25 and 15-10.
 
Ternent had a career-high 23 kills on a .458 hitting percentage while Trzeciak had 13 kills.
 
Heeney finished his weekend with 39 assists while Armour had a career-high 22 digs. McClure finished with 15 digs and Trzeciak got a double-double adding 11 digs as well.
 
Mount Union caps an undefeated weekend which included the programs first top 15 win. The Raiders now focus to next weekend where they head to Rochester, N.Y. they will take on No. 9 Nazareth on Friday and No. 8 St. John Fisher on Saturday along with SUNY Poly on Saturday.
