Gibbins Takes All-American Honors; Wayt Qualifies to Four Event Finals

BRIMINGHAM, Alabama—Kennady Gibbins (Navarre / Fairless) took home an All-American honor in the pentathlon finishing fourth overall while Mount Union will send four athletes to the finals of the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championship Finals.
 
Gibbins competed all day over five events as she started with an 8.85 in the 60-Meter hurdles, then high jumped 5-feet 5.75-inches, she headed to the shot put and threw 35-feet 1-inch while jumping 17-feet 11.5-inches and finished with the 800-Meters in a time of 2:38.36.
 
Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W. Va. / Wheeling Central Catholic) qualified to four different events for the second straight Indoor Championships in the 60, 200 400 and 4x400-Meter relay. Wayt is currently ranked fifth, seventh, and sixth in the 60, 400 and 200.
 
Madison Miles (Padua / Padua Franciscan) will join Wayt in the 400-Meters as she qualified sixth overall.
 
Miles and Wayt joined with Mary Mason (Alliance / Marlington) and Taylor Cupp (Geneva) to put down the fifth fastest 4x400 in the meet qualifying to the finals.
 
Bri Aveni (Geneva) finished tied for 14th in the pole vault with a leap of 11-feet 9.75-inches.
 
The 4x400-Meter crew will be back in action tomorrow alone with Wayt in her three individual events and Miles in the 400.
