Worth The Wayt; Kenadee Wayt Becomes The National Champion in the 200-Meters

BRIMINGHAM, Alabama—Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W. Va. / Wheeling Central) became Mount Union's women's track and field third individual Champion winning the 200-Meters in a time of 24.31 Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships.
 
In her seventh event of the weekend Wayt ran the third fastest 200-Meters in Division III history while also beating her own school record and earning her first national championship.
 
This propelled Mount Union to its best school finish in Indoor Track history at the Championships earning fifth with 32 points. Wisconsin-Lacrosse won the meet with 59.5 points.
 
Wayt has a busy day before the 200 as she picked up 3rd place in the 400-Meters with a 55.55 and 4th place in the 60-Meters with a 7.66.
 
Wayt earned All-American honors in four different events for the second straight Indoor Championships in the 60, 200 400 and 4x400-Meter relay.
 
Madison Miles (Padua / Padua Franciscan) joined Wayt in the 400-Meters as an All-American placing 7th with a 56.69.
 
Miles and Wayt joined with Mary Mason (Alliance / Marlington) and Kennady Gibbins (Navarre / Fairless) broke the school record running a 3:48.30 and finishing 5th.
 
Gibbins finished tied for 19th in the high jump as well.
