ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union women's tennis team lost, 7-2, to Allegheny in a non-conference match at home inside Peterson Field House on Saturday.
 
The Purple Raiders won the first doubles. Sophomore Abby Franks (Canton / Canton South) and first-year Amelia Francisco (Canfield / Canfield) teamed up for a No. 1 doubles win, 8-6, and the duo of junior Emma Thornton (Canfield / Youngstown Ursuline) and first-year Emily Peel (Green / Green) were victorious at No. 2 doubles, 8-7 (5).
 
Allegheny, the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) champions, improved to 15-2 on the season, while the Purple Raiders dropped to 0-5.
 
Mount is back on the court Saturday, April 1 at Otterbein in Ohio Athletic Conference action with a 1 p.m. start time.
