ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union men's lacrosse team fell 16-7 against Baldwin Wallace Wednesday night in Kehres Stadium in their last regular season game.
Purple Raiders (6-10, 3-6 OAC) were led by senior
Logan Gebhart (McDonald, Pa./Canon-McMillan) with three goals and an assist.
Baldwin Wallace (15-2, 9-0 OAC) was led by a duo of Jonas Aquilla and Kyler Byerly who each had four goals.
In the first quarter, Mount Union was held to zero goals while BW put five in the back of the net.
In the second quarter, the Purple Raiders would see their first two goals of the game from Gebhart and sophomore
Connor Addison (South Bend, Ind./Mishakawa). BW would go onto score four goals in the quarter to give them a 9-2 lead at halftime.
In the third quarter, Mount Union outscored BW 3-0 with goals coming from seniors Eli Ciottti (Canonsburg, Pa./Linsly) and Gebhart. Junior
Mark Zusman (Willoughby/Willoughby South) would score his first of the game. BW led 9-5 at the end of the quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Mount Union was outscored 7-2 as Gebhart and sophomore
Liam Erwin (Victor, N.Y / Victor Senior) each scored a goal.
The Raiders will advance to the OAC Quarterfinals as the sixth seed thanks to a point differential tiebreaker between Marietta and Muskingum with Mount Union. Mount Union will travel to the No. 3-seed Capital on Saturday with a time to be announced.
