NORTH CANTON, Ohio—The Mount Union track and field team tuned up for the Ohio Athletic Conference championships next week on Thursday and Friday hosted at home by competing at the Walsh Invitational on Thursday afternoon and finished with two victories and seven top three finishes.
Curtis Joppeck (New London) and
Vincent Giumenti (Dover) took the victory and second place in the men's 800-Meters with a time of 1:54.25 and 1:54.59.
Bret Wingard (Knox, Pa. / Keystone) won the men's triple jump with a leap of 42-feet 3.5-inches.
Kennady Gibbins (Navarre / Fairless) brought home second in the women's 400-Meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.62 and second in the long jump with a leap of 17-feet 6.75-inches.
Megan Wertz (Canton / GlenOak) finished second in the women's 800-Meters with a 2:19.38.
Jeff Joseph (Beloit / West Branch) took third in the men's 1,500-Meters with a time of 3:55.59.
Bri Aveni (Geneva) took third in the women's pole vault with a leap of 11-feet 3-inches.
Calena Jablonski (Kinsman / Badger) finished third in the women's triple jump with a jump of 29-feet 9-inches.
Mount Union will host the OAC Championships starting on Thursday May 4
th at 11 a.m.
