TIFFIN, Ohio—The Mount Union men's lacrosse team defeated Heidelberg 11-1 Saturday afternoon in Ohio Athletic Conference play.
The Purple Raiders (4-7, 1-3 OAC) were led by
Liam Erwin with three goals and two assists while
Logan Gebhart had three goals.
Eli Ciotti picked up two goals with two assists while
Grant Dunmire finished with two goals and an assist.
Logan Addonizio rounded out the scoring with one goal and three assists.
Dane Matuscin finished the game with a team-high five ground balls while
Alec Blazer and
Anthony Andreski finished with three caused turnovers each.
Logan Gunderman made 10 saves in goal while
Evan Winegardn came in the final three minutes making two saves.
Heidelberg (3-7, 0-4 OAC) was led by Connor Reese with the lone goal while Wilson Runnette was in goal making 19 saves for Heidelberg.
Dunmire and Erwin got the Raiders going scoring a goal each before Heidelberg got its long goal in the first quarter.
Mount Union only got one goal in the second quarter from Addonizio to take a 3-1 lead into halftime.
The Raiders exploded for five goals in the third quarter as Gebhart and Erwin each had two and Ciotti found the back of the net.
The fourth quarter saw a goal each from Ciotti, Gebhart and Dunmire as Mount Union finished up the game winning 11-1.
Mount Union will return home to play the make-up game against Muskingum on Wednesday, April 12 at 7 p.m.
