Track and Field: Raiders Take Advantage of Nice Day With Seven Victories; Gibbins Breaks School Record

ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union track and field team took to the track at its own last chance meet on Wednesday and Thursday winning seven events.
 
The Purple Raiders will now await the NCAA Division III Track and Field accepted entries list that will come out tomorrow afternoon/evening to see who qualifies to the national meet held in Rochester, New York at St. John Fisher on Thursday through Saturday next weekend.

Kennady Gibbins (Navarre / Fairless) won the 400-Meter hurdles breaking the school record in a time of 1:01.50 which sits her 11th in the country.
 
Madison Miles (Padua / Padua Franciscan), Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W. Va. / Wheeling Central Catholic), Taylor Cupp (Geneva) and Mary Mason (Alliance / Marlington) won the 4x400-Meter Relay with a time of 3:44.68 which is ranked third in the nation.
 
The quartet of Jared Storm (Barberton), Andrew McVicker (Dover), Tyler Gill (Greenville, Pa. / Reynolds) and Tylir Shannon (Transfer, Pa. / Reynolds) won the 4x100-Meter Relay with a time of 40.65 which would put them sixth in the nation, but they have run 40.62 which is currently tied for fourth.
 
Storm came back in the 200-Meters winning with a time of 21.29 which will now put him in 20th by himself.   
  
Matt McBride (Conneaut) won the 400-Meters in a time of 47.14 which would put him 13th but he currently has the nation lead with a 46.27.
 
Sidney Rambo (Columbiana / Columbiana Crestview) won the discus with a throw of 137-feet 10-inches.
 
Megan Wertz (Canton / GlenOak) won the 1,500-Meters in a time of 4:51.89.
