ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union women's lacrosse team fell at home in the OAC Tournament Championship 20-17 to Capital Saturday afternoon.
Mount Union will now wait to see if they grab one of the 13 bids for the NCAA Tournament with the selections announced on Monday at 10:30 a.m.
The Purple Raiders (13-4) were led by juniors
Eden Kesler (Chagrin Falls / Kenston) and
Katie Clark (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) with five goals apiece while Kesler added an assist as well.

Julia Bates (East Lyme, Conn.) scored three goals while senior
Madi Karr (Newark, Del. / Newark Charter) scored two goals and had 4 assists.

Emily Nannarone (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) each had a goal.

Leah Shutts (Buffalo, N.Y. / Amherst Central) led the team in caused turnovers and ground balls with five and three. Sophomore Goalie
Abby Lindkvist (Greenlawn, N.Y. / Haborfields) made 13 saves in the cage for Mount Union.
Capital's (10-4) Grace Osborn led all scorers with 13 goals while Emily Serafinchon made eight saves.
Mount Union got to a hot start leading 2-0 on a goal from Kesler and Nannarone. Capital responded with two right away to tie the game. A goal from Clark and Kesler squished a pair of goals from Capital as the score was 4-4. Both teams found the back of the net one more time in the quarter as Kesler grabbed another one.
The Raiders got a goal from Bates after a Capital goal to stay tied at 6. A 3-0 run for Capital was quickly followed by a goal from Clark. Capital responded once again with a 2-0 run to take an 11-7 lead but the Raiders found the back of the net twice with M. Karr and Clark scoring. Capital got one more goal at the end of the first half to lead 12-9.
Clark and Kesler gave Mount Union life with a goal each to start the third quarter to trail 13-11 Capital however responded with three straight goals to go up 16-11. Both teams grabbed two more goals in the quarter with M. Karr and Bates scoring for Mount Union.
Mount Union started a comeback in the fourth quarter as S. Karr and Kesler got a goal each to bring the lead down to 18-15 but two goals from Osborn shut the Raiders down as Bates and Clark each got one goal each to finish the game 20-17.
