Another Mount Union football season means another year striving for another NCAA Championship title. The Purple Raiders, who are coming off their 22nd appearance in the NCAA Championship game (NCAA Division III record), 33rd Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) title, and 31st undefeated regular season, will be vying for their 14th National crown (extending their own NCAA D3 record). Mount Union was picked to win its 34th OAC title by the league coaches in the conference's preseason poll, receiving nine of the 10 first-place votes. Defiance was voted to finish fifth out of eight teams in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC). The Purple Raiders are 6-0 all-time against the Yellow Jackets including shutouts of 65-0 (in 2022) and 58-0 (in 1997) in their last two meetings. Full Game Notes here.
