ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's soccer team defeated Chatham 3-1 in a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars (1-3-2) would strike first when Lauren Hall found the back of the net in the 43
rd minute.
The Purple Raiders (3-2) would quickly answer when junior
Jillian Pidgeon (Homeworth / West Branch) found sophomore
Madeline Boulos (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Deer Lake) allowing her to score and tie the game at one going into half time.
The Raiders would then open the second half with senior
Kaela Turle (Twinsburg) finding freshman
Eleanore Busch (Concord Twp. / Riverside) who was able to find the back of the net for her first career goal, allowing Mount Union to take their first lead of the game 2-1. Mount Union was able to extend their lead in the 55
th minute with a goal from freshman
Paige Klingensmith (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) to ensure their victory 3-1.
The Raiders are back on the road next when they travel to Oberlin, Ohio to take on Oberlin on Tuesday, September 19
th at 7:00 p.m.
