GENEVA, Ohio—The Mount Union men's track and field team picked up three wins on Saturday afternoon at the Spire Institute.
Matt McBride (Conneaut) won the 400-Meters in a time of 47.93 which would put him seventh, but he already has the fastest time of the year so far.
Vincent Giumenti (Dover) won the mile and 800-Meters in times of 4:12.63 and 1:54.63 which currently ranks him eighth in the mile and tied for 15th in the 800.
Curtis Joppeck (New London) finished second in the 800-Meters running a 1:54.70 which is currently ranked 17th.
Haden Gibson (Brookfield),
Josh Fouche (Cuyahoga Falls / Walsh Jesuit), Nick Scherson (Memphis, Tenn. / Christian Brothers) and Giumenti took second in the 4x400-Meter Relay running a 3:21.84.
Drake Willenborg (South Lyon, Mich. / South Lyon East) took third overall in the weight throw with a toss of 58-feet 8-inches which currently ranks him tied for eighth in the nation.
Alex Reese (Geneva) and Tyler Kohlmann (Huron) finished third and fourth in the 800-Meters with times of 1:55.00 and 1:55.59.
Jared Storm (Barberton) with Fouche took third and fourth in the 300-Meters with times of 35.06 and 35.33.
Justin Knoch (Canton / GlenOak) finished third in the 600-Meters running a 1:20.83.
Gibson also took fourth in the 400-Meters with a time of 49.60.
Ryan McVicker (Dover) finished fifth in the shot put with a throw of 46-feet 10.5-inches.
The Purple Raiders return home next weekend hosting the Jim Wuske Invitational on Saturday, January 27th.
