WILMINGTON, Ohio – Mount Union's women's soccer team lost an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup against Wilmington 3-1 on Saturday evening.
The Quakers (6-3-3, 2-0-1 OAC) would strike first when Alex Wilson netted a goal in the 42 minute to take a 1-0 lead. Wilmington would add to that lead in the 55
th minute when Jordan Snyder scored on a penalty kick to make the lead two goals.
The Purple Raiders (4-8, 0-3 OAC) would cut into the lead in the 57
th minute when senior
Logan Godfrey (Huntingtown, Md.) found fellow senior
Meredith Foster (Toledo / St. Ursula Academy) for the goal to cut the lead to 2-1.
The Quakers however would stretch the lead back to two goals in the 77
th minute when Snyder scored her second goal of the game and Wilmington would go on to win 3-1.
The Raiders return home next when they host Muskingum in a conference matchup on Wednesday, October 16 at 7 p.m. in Kehres Stadium.
