ASHTABULA, Ohio – The Mount Union women's tennis team won its first match of the 2024-25 season with a 5-2 victory over Penn State Behrend on Monday. The match was played at a neutral site at St. John High School, with Penn State being the host.
Mount Union (1-3) swept doubles competition, led by junior
Amelia Francisco (Canfield, Ohio / Canfield) and senior
Abby Franks (Canton, Ohio / Canton South) who won No. 1 doubles, 6-1. Francisco also won No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-0. Penn State Behrend dropped to 7-3 on the season.
The Raiders are next scheduled to host Grove City on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 12 p.m.
