ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's soccer team beat Baldwin Wallace 3-1 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday evening.
The Purple Raiders (5-9-1, 1-4-1 OAC) would strike first when sophomore
Ella Dinwiddie (Medina / Wadsworth) netted a goal in the 14
th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Then, about three minutes later freshman
Rylee Hutton (Salem) scored off an assist from senior
Jillian Pidgeon (Homeworth / West Branch) to extend the lead to two goals.
The Yellow Jackets (5-9-2, 0-3-2 OAC) would cut into the lead in the 18
th minute when Ella Barth was able to find the back of the net to cut the lead to a goal.
However, in the 57
th minute Hutton would score her second goal of the game this time off an assist from junior
Iva Bruketa (Mentor / Lake Catholic) to stretch the lead back to two goals.
Baldwin Wallace wouldn't be able to answer over the remainder of the game as Mount Union would go on to win 3-1.
The Raiders are home again next when they host Ohio Northern in Kehres Stadium on Saturday, October 26 at 1 p.m. in Alliance.
