WESTERVILLE, Ohio—Mount Union's women's volleyball team fell in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinal in four sets, 17-25, 20-25, 25-16, 24-26, to Otterbein Thursday night at the Rike Center.
The Purple Raiders (19-9, 6-3 OAC) were led by senior
Heaven Bartell (Cleveland / St. Joseph Academy) with 17 kills and 26 digs with a hitting percentage of .308. Senior
Alexis Meyer (Avon Lake) also had double digit kills with 11 on a hitting percentage of .344.
Senior
Casey Kildow (Bethesda / Union Local) and sophomore
Melissa Hansen (Hudson) had double digit assists with 19 and 13. Sophomore
Averi Haley (Orrville) had a game-high 30 digs while senior
Katelyn Lesko (Mineral Ridge) and Kildow finished with 11 and 10 digs.
Otterbein (20-8) was led by Kennedy Hoffman with 16 kills, Olivia Vitaz with 49 assists and Amanda Troyer with 29 digs.
Otterbein tallied 57 kills to the Raiders 42, Otterbein had 10 service aces while Mount Union had two, Mount Union finished with nine blocks while Otterbein had six and Mount Union finished with more digs 93 to 91 from Otterbein.
Mount Union will graduate five seniors in Bartell, Meyer, Lesko, Kildow and
Darby Leininger as the team finishes 19-9 overall and 6-3 in the OAC.
