ALLIANCE, Ohio – The 2024 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) awards came out on Tuesday and total of 16 Mount Union players earned All-OAC honors and two Purple Raiders earned a special award as fifth-year head coach
Geoff Dartt was named the Larry Kehres OAC Coach of the Year and senior RB
Tyler Echeverry (Naples, FL/Barron Collier) was named Co-Bob Packard Offensive Back of the Year.
Joining Echeverry on the All-OAC First Team were senior DL
Rossy Moore (Lima, OH/Lima Central Catholic), senior LB
Marcus Jackson (Dallas, TX/Richardson), senior DB
John Roland (Livonia, MI/Northville), junior OL
Giovanni Kennedy (Avon, OH/St. Edward), and junior DL
Kaleb Brown (La Plata, MD/La Plata),
Dartt, earning his second OAC Coach of the Year honor (also in 2022), has led the Raiders to an OAC Championship and undefeated regular reason in all five seasons as head coach. Dartt won his 50th career game with the win at Capital on Nov. 2, only the fifth coach in program history to achieve that milestone, while in the second fewest games.
Echeverry, earning his second All-OAC honor and first First Team recognition, leads the conference and is tied for first nationally in NCAA Division III with 20 rushing touchdowns this season - a career-high. Echeverry is averaging over 100 yards rushing a game (111.8) and 8.8 yards per carry. The school record for average yards per rush (min. 100 attempts) is 7.72, held by B.J. Mitchell (2014). Echeverry has run for over 100 yards six times this season (eight for his career), including in five-straight games. He also grabbed a career-high three receiving touchdowns this season.
Moore, earning his third-straight All-OAC First Team selection, leads the Raiders in tackles for loss this season (15.5) and is second on the team in sacks (7.0). Jackson, earning his first All-OAC honor of his career, has registered season-highs in tackles (63), tackles for loss (9.0), and sacks (3.5). Roland, earning his second-straight All-OAC First Team honor, has totaled 37 tackles, three tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, four passed defended, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. Kennedy, earning his second-straight All-OAC First team selection, has anchored an offensive line for an offense that leads the OAC in points per game (45.4), yards per game (491.9), rushing yards per game (264.2), and first downs per game (23.8). Brown, earning his second All-OAC honor and first First Team honor, leads the team and is second in the league with 10.5 sacks, to go along with 14 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and two fumbles recoveries.

Mount Union hosts John Carroll on Saturday, Nov. 30 in the Second Round of the 2024 NCAA Playoffs. Kickoff is set for Noon, which will be broadcast exclusively on ESPN+. The Purple Raiders are vying for their NCAA-record 14
th National Championship.
