Football: Echeverry and Moore Earn AFCA All-America Honors

WACO, Texas – Mount Union football senior RB Tyler Echeverry (Naples, FL/Barron Collier) and senior DL/Bandit Rossy Moore (Lima, OH/Lima Central Catholic) were named All-Americans by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).
 
Echeverry was named on the First Team, while Moore earned Second Team honors.
 
Echeverry, earning his first career All-American honors, leads NCAA Division III in rushing touchdowns with 22. Echeverry, who was named the 2024 Co-Bob Packard Offensive Back of the Year and All-OAC First Team, is averaging over 100 yards rushing a game (117.6) and 8.5 yards per carry – on pace for a school record.. Echeverry has run for over 100 yards seven times this season (nine for his career), including in six-straight games.
 
Moore, earning his second career AFCA All-America honor, is second in the school's record book for career sacks (32.5) and career tackles for loss (62.5). Moore leads the team in TFLs this season (15.5) and second on the team in sacks (7.0). Moore added to his career achievements against John Carroll in the NCAA Second Round with his first career touchdown (a 31-yard fumble return). Moore recently earned his third-straight All-OAC First Team selection.
 
Mount Union hosts Carnegie Mellon on Saturday, Dec. 7 in the Third Round of the 2024 NCAA Playoffs. Kickoff is set for Noon and will be broadcast exclusively on ESPN+. The Purple Raiders are vying for their NCAA-record 14th National Championship.
