TIFFIN, Ohio – The No. 18 nationally ranked Mount Union men's basketball team beath Heidelberg in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup 92-82 on Saturday afternoon.

The Purple Raiders (18-5, 11-5 OAC) had four players score in double figures with sophomore
Corey Hudson (Columbus / Pickerington) leading the way with a career-high 25 points, junior
Marcus Steele (Solon) scored a season-high 17 points. Sophomore
Dante Collier (Columbus / Licking Heights) scored 16 points and Parker added in 15 to round out the Raiders in double figures.
The Student Princes (13-10, 9-7 OAC) were led by Tre Watkins who scored a team-high 23 points and Isaiah Young who scored 21 points.
Mount Union jumped out to an early 8-3 lead before Heidelberg would answer with an 11-2 run over 3:07 of game time to take a 14-10 lead with 14:29 left to play in the first half. The Raiders would come back with a 12-2 run of their own over the 3:37 to reclaim the lead at 22-16 with just under 11 minutes remaining in the first half. The Student Princes would answer again however this time with a 14-6 run over 4:24 to take a two-point lead with just over five minutes to play in the half. Both teams would trade baskets over the final five minutes of the half before a layup by Hudson with just three seconds left in the half tied the game at 37 heading into the halftime break.
The Raiders opened the second half on a 14-3 run over the first 4:46 to take an 11-point 51-40 lead with 14:52 left to play in the game. Heidelberg would answer with a quick 8-2 run of their own over the next 2:03 to cut the lead down to five with 12:49 remaining, Mount Union would push the lead back out to 13 over the next 3:21 of game time, taking a 66-53 lead. The Student Princes would cut the lead down to six with 3:29 left to play but that is as close as they would get as the Raiders would go on to win 92-82.
The Raiders are on the road again next when they travel to Marietta for an OAC showdown with the Pioneers on Wednesday, February 14 at 7 p.m.
