Women's T&F: Raiders Win All-Ohio Championship; Add Three Top 20 Division III Mark in Boston

BOSTON, Massachusetts—The Mount Union women's track and field team added three top 20 marks in Division III while being split up at two meets this weekend.
 
Senior Maddy Miles (Padua / Padua Franciscan) lowered her 400-Meter time to a 56.19 in Boston this weekend which is currently fifth in Division III.
 
Junior Mary Mason (Alliance / Marlington) improved her 800-Meter time running 2:14.28 this weekend at Boston jumping into the 13th spot in Division III.
 
Mason and Miles joined junior Halle Cochran (Salem) in the 4x400-Meter relay running a 3:50.68 at Boston currently ranking fourth in Division III.
 
WESTERVILLE, Ohio-- At the All-Ohio Championship meet the Purple Raiders finished first at the meet with 120 points 18.5 ahead of second place Case Western Reserve with 101.5 points.
 
Senior Lauren Roncone (North Canton / Hoover) took home two victories with a 7.81 in the 60-Meters and jumping 17-feet 11-inches in the long jump.
 
Sophomore Makayla Sitzlar (Sugarcreek / Garaway) won the shot put with a throw of 42-feet 7-inches and freshman Makenna Rudy (Salem) finished third in the shot put with a toss of 40-feet .25-inches.  
 
An all-freshman team of Monica Clark (Akron / Manchester), Kennedy Schlessman (Huron), Taylor Hennessy (Madison), Elizabeth Funkhouser (Carrollton) took second in the 4x400-Meter relay with a time of 4:11.89.
 
Funkhouser also took second in the 400-Meters with a 59.92.
 
The quartet of juniors Lauryn Chapman (Westerville / Westerville Central), Isabelle Puleo (Mantura / Garfield) and seniors Leah Costello (Geneva) and Gianini Venuto (Ravenna / Southeast) finished third in the Distance Medley Relay with a 13:13.55.
 
Junior McKenzie Chine (Austintown / Austintown-Fitch) took third in the 60-Meter hurdles with a 9.31.
 
Junior Buzz Kline (Mogadore / Field) finished third in the weight throw with a toss of 51-feet 1-inch.
 
Freshman Kalie Campbell (Wooster / Triway) finished third in the long jump with a leap of 17-feet 2.25-inches.

Mount Union returns home next weekend to host the Mount Union Tune up.
