NEW CONCORD, OHIO—Mount Union's women's track and field team sits second after day one of the Ohio Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships hosted at Muskingum University on Thursday afternoon.
Mount Union currently has 63 points which is 30 behind Ohio Northern at 93 in the lead.
Mackenzie Davis and
Maddie Eldridge got the meet going in the long jump. Davis won the event with a jump of 18-feet 7.75-inches while Eldridge was the Runner-up with a jump of 17-feet 7.5-inches.
Faith Blitz also picked up a point in the event finishing eighth with a jump of 16-feet 1.75-inches.
The 4x800-Meter relay team of
Callie Cyrus,
Marah Bethel,
Savannah Dennison and
Taylor Hennessey won the title with a 9:29.77.
Ashley Cooper earned All-OAC honors with a runner-up in the 10,000-Meter run with a time of 38:26.51.
Zoe Seabeck finished fourth with a 39:09.65 and
Taylor Forbes finished sixth with a 39:23.80.
Shanaray Kager finished as the OAC Runner-up in the discus with a toss of 130-feet 5-inches earning All-OAC honors.
In the 3,000-Meter Steeplechase
Ava Hartman finished fourth while
Jada Ames took seventh with times of 11:45.89 and 12:02.20.
Makayla Sitzlar finished seventh overall in the javelin with a toss of 100-feet 2-inches.
Wendy Veit finished eighth in the pole vault with a leap of 11-feet .25-inches.
Mount Union will warp up the championships tomorrow with field events beginning at 11 AM.
