WOOSTER, Ohio—The Mount Union men's lacrosse team fell 20-4 on the road against Wooster Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders (3-2) had
Liam Erwin (Victor, N.Y. / Victor Senior),
Spencer Logsdon (Akron / Archbishop Hoban),
Josh Pasco (Wadsworth) and
Sly Sundown (Akron, N.Y. / Akron) each score a goal in the game.
Stephen Moschetta (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Trinity) stood in goal making 13 saves while
Dane Matuscin (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) finished with four groundballs and three caused turnovers.
Wooster (5-1) was led by Vinny DiLeo with five goals, Jimmy Fisher with nine ground balls and in goal getting the win was Paul Chandler making five saves.
Wooster outscored Mount Union 9 to 0 in the first quarter of the game. Mount Union bounced back with three goals and holding Wooster to just three goals as well in the second quarter.
Wooster once again held Mount Union scoreless in the third quarter while scoring four goals. Mount Union got a goal in the last quarter but was not enough to get a comeback going.
Mount Union will now welcome Westminster (Pa.) to Kehres Stadium for a 7 pm start on Wednesday night.
