VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia—
Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W. Va. / Wheeling Central Catholic) added two more national champioships titles to her name as she won the 200 and 400-Meters and added another All-American honor taking runner-up in the 60-Meters Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Wayt now has 18 All-Americans and five national titles to her name. The 18 All-Americans ties Shawn Watson for the most in Mount Union track and field history. The five national titles currently puts her in a tie for third place with A.J Digby.
Wayt broke two school records in the day in the 200-Meters and 400-Meters with times of 24.10 and 54.72. The time in the 200-Meters was the second fastest person all-time in Division III and the fourth fastest person in Division III in the 400-Meters.
Wayt earned her first All-American of the day finishing as the runner-up in the 60-Meter Dash with a time of 7.55.
Mount Union as a team finished sixth overall with 28 points while Loras won the team title with 51 points.
On the men's side the 4x400-Meter Relay quartet of
Matt McBride (Conneaut),
Jared Storm (Barberton),
Justin Knoch (Canton / GlenOak and
Haden Gibson (Brookfield) brought home another indoor title running 3:11.52. This was a school record, meet record and fourth fastest time in Division III history.
