Track and Field: Raiders Tune Up at Walsh Invite

NORTH CANTON, Ohio—The Mount Union track and field tuned up on Thursday afternoon at the Walsh Invitational.
 
Aaron Blevins (Windham) won the high jump with a leap of 6-feet 4.75-inches. Blevins also finished third in the 110-Meter hurdles with a time of 15.51.
 
Makayla Sitzlar (Sugarcreek / Garaway) won the shot put with a throw of 43-feet 4.25-inches.
 
Elizabeth Funkhouser (Carrollton) finished second in the 400-Meter dash with a time of 59.71.
 
Colton Hanlon (Uniontown / Lake) and Cameron Nightingale (Whitehouse / Anthony Wayne) took second and third in the pole vault with jumps of 14-feet 1.75-inches and 13-feet 1.75-inches.
 
Wyatt Freeman finished second in the javelin with a toss of 149-feet 9-inches.
 
Ryan McVicker (Dover) finished third in the shot put with a toss of 51-feet 7.25-inches.
 
Tylir Shannon (Greenville, Pa. / Reynolds) finished third in the 100-Meter dash with a time of 10.90.
 
Laney Duff (Millersburg / W. Holmes) finished third in the high jump with a leap of 4-feet 11-inches.
 
Kayla McAdams (Massillon / Massillon Perry) and Annalyse (Hudson, Mich / Hudson Area) took third and fourth in the pole vault with leaps of 11-feet 4.5-inches and 10-feet 10.75-inches.
 
Curtis Joppeck (New London) and Vincent Giumenti (Dover) finished fourth and fifth in the 800-Meters with times of 1:52.77 and 1:53.15.
 
Ty Pratt (Massillon / Tuslaw) took fourth in the 400-Meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.12.
 
Paige Klingensmith (Stow) and Becca Santom (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City Area) finished fourth and fifth in the 100-Meter hurdles with a 16.50 and 16.79.
 
Makenna Rudy (Salem) finished fifth in the shot put with a toss of 41-feet 10-inches.
 
Hailey Stanforth (Hamilton / Butler) took fifth in the javelin with a throw of 80-feet 5-inches. \
 
Mount Union now heads to Tiffin on Thursday and Friday next week to compete in the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Heidelberg University.
