BEREA, Ohio—
Mary Mason (Alliance / Marlington) broke a 30 year old record in the 800-Meters while Mount Union dropped six top 22 marks heading into the final week of the track and field season Friday night ta the Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet.
Mary Mason (Alliance / Marlington) broke the school record in the 800-Meters running 2:10.20 which was held for 30 years by Heather O'Shea. Mason currently ranks 10th in Division III.
Mason joined
Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W.Va. / Wheeling Central Catholic),
Madison Miles (Brunswick / Padua Franciscan), and
Elizabeth Funkhouser (Carrollton) dropped the top Division III time with a 3:45.26 finishing third in the race.
The quartet of
Jared Storm (Barberton),
Tyler Gill (Greenville, Pa. / Reynolds),
Matt McBride (Conneaut) and
Justin Knoch (Canton / GlenOak) dropped the top time in Division III with a 3:09.92 winning the 4x400-Meter relay.
Gill joined
Tylir Shannon (Greenville, Pa. / Reynolds), Aiden Malloy (League City, Tx. / Clear Springs) and
Vinny Zeren (Louisville / St. Thomas Aquinas) won the 4x100-Meter with a stadium and meet record 40.34 which betters their time by .01 as they will sit second in Division III.
The quartet of Wayt, Miles,
Dae Dae Nash (Akron / Buchtel) and
Kalie Campbell (Wooster / Triway) finished third in the 4x100-Meter relay with a time of 47.37 which ranks them 13th in Division III.
Blaine Kitchen (Tontogany / Otsego) finished fourth in the 400-hurdles with a time of 53.17 that will put him on the bubble currently sitting tied for 21st in Division III.
Wayt also picked up the victory in the 200-Meters with a time of 24.42.
Vincent Giumenti (Dover) picked up the victory in the 1,500-Meters with a time of 3:48.77.
Brady Burrey (Bellefontaine) picked up the victory in the javelin with a toss of 166-feet 6-inches.
Mount Union will now host its last chance meet on Wednesday and Thursday next week before heading to the NCAA Championships in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
