TIFFIN, Ohio—
Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W.Va. / Wheeling Central Catholic) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference most outstanding sprinter of the meet as she helped the women's track and field team finishing second in the OAC Outdoor Track and field Championship on Friday.
The Purple Raiders finished second with a team score of 168 while Ohio Northern took the team title with 228 points.
Wayt won the 100-Meters with a time of 11.88 and the 200-Meters with a time of 24.26 while also helping the 4x100-Meter relay pick up a victory on day two as well. Wayt currently ranks third in the 200-Meters and tied for fourth in the 100-Meters while the 4x100-Meter relay is ranked 14th in Division III.
The trio to join Wayt in the 4x100-Meter relay was
Madison Miles (Brunswick / Padua Franciscan),
Dae Dae Nash (Akron / Buchtel) and
Kalie Campbell (Wooster / Triway) running an OAC Meet record with a time of 47.52.
Miles along with
Mary Mason (Alliance / Marlington),
Halle Cochran (Salem) and
Kristen Walters (Gretna, Neb.) won the 4x400-Meter relay with a time of 4:01.22.
Miles picked up a victory in the 400-Meter dash with a time of 55.61 which ranks her eighth in Division III currently. Miles also took third in the 200-Meters with a time of 24.98.
Picking up All-OAC honors was
Elizabeth Mason (Alliance / Marlington) taking second in the 100-Meter hurdles with a time of 15.16,
Makayla Sitzlar (Sugarcreek / Garaway) took second in the shot put with a toss of 42-feet 9.75-inches and Mason also took second in the 800-Meters with a time of 2:12.61.
Mount Union will now head to the BW Twilight meet next Friday in Berea, Ohio for a last chance meet.
