Women's Volleyball: Raiders Split Competitive Matches on Day Two of Mount Union Volleyball Invitational

ALLAINCE, Ohio—Mount Union's women's volleyball team split on Day two of the Mount Union Volleyball Invitational Saturday afternoon with senior outside hitter Heaven Bartell (Cleveland / St. Joseph Academy) picking up All-Tournament honors.
 
Mount Union (3-1) picked up a five set victory over Denison (1-2) 25-22, 20-25, 21-25, 26-24 and 17-15.
 
Bartell led Mount Union with 17 kills while Alexis Meyer (Avon Lake) finished with 10 kills and nine blocks.
 
Casey Kildow (Bethesda / Union Local) and Melissa Hansen (Hudson) finished with 19 and 16 assists respectively while Bartell finished with 14 digs, Averi Haley (Orrville) finished with 11 and Katelyn Lesko (Mineral Ridge) finished with 10 digs.
 
Denison was led by Ayla Dunbar with 20 kills, Alice Kempf with 37 assists and Sadie Habeeb with 25 digs.
 
In the second game of the day Mount Union fell to No. 18 Nationally ranked Clavin (3-1) in a tight contest with scores of 24-26, 24-26, 25-23 and 25-11.
 
Bartell led the way once again with 17 kills while Darby Leininger (Chardon / Beaumont) finished with 15.
 
Kildow and Hansen had double digit assists again with 23 and 18. Haley finished the match with 20 digs while Bartell finished with 18.
 
Mount Union will now get ready to head up to Cleveland, Ohio on Wednesday to take on Case Western Reserve, who is receiving votes in the national poll, at 7 PM.
