GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Mount Union's men's soccer team lost a non-conference matchup against Calvin 5-1 on Saturday afternoon.
The Knights (5-3) struck first when Xtreme Hauk found the back of the net in the 12
th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
The Purple Raiders (5-3) would tie the game at a goal apiece when senior
Carter Hancock (Amherst / Marion L. Steele) scored in the 16
th minute. Calvin would reclaim the lead in the 20
th minute this time scoring of a penalty kick by Alex White. White would score his second goal of the game in the 24
th minute to stretch the lead to two goals.
The Knights would add a fourth goal in the 72
nd minute this time scoring off the foot of Quinten Latchett and then Quinn Graham found the back of the net in the 84
th minute to make the lead 5-1. Mount Union wouldn't be able to answer over the final six minutes of the game as Calvin would go on to win 5-1.
The Raiders return home next when they host Wooster on Wednesday, September 25 at 7 p.m. in Kehres Stadium in Alliance.
