STUEBENVILLE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's soccer team beat Franciscan in a non-conference matchup 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.
The Barons (0-4) struck first when Eva Dexter was able to find the back of the net in the 23
rd minute to take a 1-0 lead.
The Purple Raiders would comeback to tie the game at one in the 52
nd minute when junior
Madeline Boulos (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Deer Lake) scored off an assist from senior
Jillian Pidgeon (Homeworth / West Branch). Then, with just 42 seconds left in the game Pidgeon would score a goal of her own off an assist from sophomore
Simone Thiel (Cuyahoga Falls / Hoban) to break the tie and give Mount Union the 2-1 victory.
The Raiders return home next when they host Grove City on Wednesday, September 11 at 7 p.m. in Kehres Stadium.
