CLEVELAND, Ohio—Mount Union's women's volleyball team picked up two wins on Saturday afternoon against Earlham and Allegheny to move to 5-2 overall.
The Purple Raiders took down Earlham (4-4) in four sets, 18-25, 25-20, 25-18 and 27-25, to start the day off.
Senior
Darby Leininger (Chardon / Beaumont) led the way with 16 kills while three others finished with double digit kills as senior
Heaven Bartell (Cleveland / St. Joseph Academy) finished with 11 kills and junior Ryan Kanable (Powell / Olentangy Liberty) and sophomore
Molly McKee (North Ridgeville) had 10.
Senior
Katelyn Lesko (Mineral Ridge) picked up a career-high 35 digs almost averaging nine digs a set. Bartell picked up 18 digs while freshman
Sam Cantrell (Eastlake / Eastlake North) had 13 digs and senior
Casey Kildow (Bethesda / Union Local) finished with 11.
Kildow also picked up 25 assists while sophomore
Melissa Hansen (Hudson) totaled 24 assists.
Earlham was led by Caylee Brandes with 15 kills, Ava Walters with 31 assists and Madison Bizjak with 24 digs.
In game two of the day Mount Union swept Allegheny (4-3) 25-18, 25-19 and 25-21.
Bartell led the team in kills with 10 while Kanable and McKee finished the day with seven each.
Kildow and Hansen both finished with 12 assists while Lesko picked up 18 digs and Bartell picked up 15.
Allegheny was led by Dagney Javes with 14 kills, Meagan Robare with 21 assists and Alejandra Fernandez with 26 digs.
Mount Union will now wait till next Friday to take on Grove City at 4 PM and Pitt-Bradford at 6 PM in Alliance.
