KENT, Ohio—The Mount Union women's track and field team began its 2024-25 journey competing at the Kent State Jud Logan Memorial.
Gia Venuto (Newton Falls / Southeast) competed in the 800-Meters and mile and has the top time in the Ohio Athletic Conference in the 800 with a 2:22.93 and second in the mile with a 5:11.13.
Kennedy Schlessman (Huron) also competed in those races and sits third in the 800-Meters, 2:29.11, and fifth in the mile with a 5:27.80.
Kalie Campbell (Wooster / Triway) finished fourth overall with a jump of 18-feet .5-inches in the long jump which is the top distance in the OAC.
Madeline Burgess (Parma / Padua Franciscan) finished seventh in the triple jump with a jump of 36-feet which in the top in the OAC.
Meghan Schwartz (Sugarcreek / Garaway) and
Taylor Hennessey (Madison) finished second and third in the meet in the 1,000-Meters with times of 3:11.72 and 3:14.16.
Jessica Mason (Twinsburg) finished sixth in the pole vault with a leap of 10-feet 4-inches which is good for third in the OAC.
Laney Duff (Millersburg / West Holmes) finished seventh in the high jump and currently sits fifth in the OAC with a leap of 5-feet .25-inches.
Mount Union will continue its season next weekend at the Spire Invite hosted by the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
