The Purple Raiders (10-2-3, 3-1-1 OAC) would break the scoreless tie when junior
Alex Depperschmidt (Mansfield / Lexington) found the back of the net off an assist from sophomore
Keegan White (Columbus / Olentangy) to take a 1-0 lead in the 49
th minute.
Mount Union would add to their lead in the 58
th minute when junior
Frank Washburn (Columbia Station / Columbia) headed in his first career goal off an assist from fellow junior
Dom Kustura (Willowick / Eastlake North) to stretch the lead to two goals. Then, the Raiders would add a third goal in the 65
th minute, this time scoring off the foot of senior
Braedon Kennedy (Strongsville) with Kustura picking up his second assist of the game.
The Yellow Jackets (5-11-1, 1-4-0 OAC) wouldn't have an answer over the final 25 minutes of action as the Raiders would go on to win 3-0.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Enio Hoxha (Akron / Copley) recorded his second consecutive shutout in the win.
The Raiders are home again next when they host OAC opponent Ohio Northern on Saturday, October 25 at 7 p.m. in Kehres Stadium.
