BEREA, Ohio – Mount Union's women's soccer team beat Baldwin Wallace 4-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference play on Wednesday evening.
The Purple Raiders (6-5-2, 3-2 OAC) would strike first when senior
Madeline Boulos (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Deer Lake) found the back of the net off an assist from sophomore
Rachel Chenos (Hilliard / Hilliard Bradley) to take a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute.
Mount Union would then add to their lead in the 63
rd minute, this time scoring off a goal from junior
Ella Dinwiddie (Medina / Wadsworth) with Boulos picking up the assist. Then, just under two minutes later they would add another goal when sophomore
Rachel Washburn (Columbia Station / Columbia) found the back of the net to stretch the lead to three goals. Graduate student
Jillian Wiersma (Zanesville) would then add a fourth goal in the 85
th minute.
The Yellow Jackets (3-10-2, 2-3 OAC) wouldn't have answer over the remainder of the game as the Raiders would go on to win 4-0.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Leanne Williams (Poland / Poland Seminary) recorded five save en route to her seventh shutout of the season in the victory.
The Raiders are on the road again next when they travel to Ada for an OAC contest against Ohio Northern on Saturday, October 25 at 1 p.m.
