ALLIANCE, Ohio – The No. 2 Mount Union football team remained undefeated in the 2025 season with a 33-7 win over Ohio Northern at home, handing the Polar Bears their first conference loss of the season.

Mount Union (7-0, 5-0 OAC) led 33-0 before Ohio Northern (5-2, 5-1 OAC) scored its lone touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Freshman QB
Mikey Maloney (Concord Township, OH/Painesville Riverside) went 15 for 21 for 187 yards and three touchdowns—Maloney has now thrown multiple touchdowns in every game this season.
"Just great execution from offense, defense, and special teams," Maloney said. "Just overall, a great team win."
"He just wants it all the time," Dartt said of Maloney. "He's always talking to (Offensive Coordinator) Coach (Junior) Collins. Coach Collins has done a great job of coordinating the offense, putting Mikey in great situations for him to be successful."
Junior K
Ivan Maric (Falls Church, VA/Mclean) was 2-for-2 in field goals, his first multi-FG game of the season and the third of his career.
Sophomore RB
Kayden Minner (New Madrid, MO/New Madrid County Central) ran for over 100 yards for the third straight game, including a 77-yard touchdown.
"Got to get to the end zone, I got to get there," Minner said when asked about the 10th longest run in program history, while crediting the offensive line and graduate RB
Darnell Williams's (Cleveland, OH/John Adams) downfield block.
Both of senior TE
Wyatt Stiehl's (Tampa, Fla./East Lake) receptions resulted in touchdowns. For the season, five of Stiehl's six catches have been scores.
Senior WR
Jacob Cockrell (Stockbridge, GA/Dutchtown) had a team-high 75 receiving yards off four catches, including a long of 34.
Senior DL
Brandon Bowden (Gainesville, FL/Gainesville) had a career-high eight tackles, including a sack—one of four Mount Union sacks on the day. Senior
Kaleb Brown (La Plata, MD/La Plata) had a half sack and is now with 27 career sacks, behind
Charles Dieuseul (29.5), James Herbert (31.5), Rossy More (36.0), and Tom Lally (42.0) for most in program history.
Brown and Bowden sacked Northern's Sam Feldman on third down, and the Polar Bears missed a 38-yard field goal on their opening drive. The Purple Raiders capitalized with a 9-play, 79-yard drive, capped off with an 11-yard touchdown from Maloney to Stiehl.
Mount's defense forced a punt on Northern's ensuing drive, and it only took one play for the Purple Raiders to find paydirt as Minner ran 77 yards for the score.
The Purple Raiders led 20-0 at halftime. In the first half, the Raiders outgained the Polar Bears, 255 (8.8 avg. yds./play) to 93 (3.1 avg. yds./play) in total yards. For the game, Mount Union was a perfect 5-for-5 in the red zone.
Mount Union will next host Capital on Saturday, Nov. 1, for its M Club Hall of Fame game with a 1:30 p.m. kickoff.
