ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's soccer team played Ohio Northern to a 2-2 draw in Ohio Athletic Conference play on Saturday evening.
The Polar Bears (10-0-6, 5-0-2 OAC) would strike first when Johnny Roussakis found the back of the net in the 17
th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
The Purple Raiders (10-2-4, 3-1-2 OAC) would answer with a goal of their own in the 35
th minute when senior
Braedon Kennedy (Strongsville) scored off an assist from junior
Tyler Harsch (Aliquippa, Pa. / Central Valley) and senior
AJ Jaber (Massillon / Massillon Jackson) to tie the game at a goal apiece.
Ohio Northern would reclaim the lead in the 52
nd minute, this time scoring on a Chase Robinson goal to take a 2-1 lead. Mount Union would once again answer with a goal in the 79
th minute when junior
Alex Depperschmidt (Mansfield / Lexington) found the back of the net off an assist from sophomore
Keegan White (Columbus / Olentangy) to tie the game at two.
Neither team would be able to claim a lead over the final 11 minutes of action as the teams would play to a 2-2 draw.
The Raiders hit the road next when they travel to Marietta to take on the Pioneers in OAC play on Wednesday, October 29 at 7 p.m.
