LOUISVILLE, Kentucky—
Savannah Dennison (Mentor) led Mount Union's women's cross country team with a 15th overall place in the Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic Silver race Saturday morning at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park.
Dennison crossed the line in a time of 22:05.8 which was good for the seventh best Division III athlete in the meet.
Ashley Cooper (Mentor) and
Marah Bethel (Barnesville) finished 103
rd and 111
th overall with times of 23:52.0 and 23:55.5.
Rounding out the team scoring was
Taylor Hennessey (Madison) and
Zoe Seabeck (Concord / Painesville Riverside) with times of 24:39.7 and 24:45.1 taking 181
st and 193
rd overall.
Rounding out the top seven for Mount Union was
Ava Hartman (Lindhurst / Beaumont) and
Gabby D'Amico (Painesville / Riverside) with times of 25:02.2 and 25:21.6.
Mount Union finished 18
th overall with 577 points as Division I Kennesaw State won the meet with a total of 54 points.
Mount Union got to preview where the Great Lakes regional will be this fall and came away with the runner-up finish two points behind Otterbein.
Mount Union will turn its attention to Saturday, October 18th where the team will split up and compete at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble in Oberlin, Oh. or the Augustana Interregional Invitational in Rock Island, Ill.
