BEXLEY, Ohio—The Mount Union women's volleyball team won a five set match, 25-13, 18-25, 18-25, 25-22 and 15-12, over Capital to end its Ohio Athletic Conference play and season Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders (11-16, 3-5 OAC) were led by
Molly McKee (North Ridgeville) with 16 kills while
Sadie Thomas (Cambridge Springs, Pa. / Maplewood) and
Zoe Sweigart (Canal Winchester) each had 14 kills.
DeLani Durst (Clyde) finished the match with 28 assists with
Anna Mihacevich (Hinkley / Padua Franciscan) finished with 17.
Averi Haley (Orrville) led the way with 24 digs while
Sam Cantrell (Eastlake / Eastlake North), Thomas and Durst each had 21, 20 and 10 respectively.
Cami Welty (Willowick / Eastlake North) led the way with six blocks and three aces while McKee and
Riley Meister (Madison) each had four blocks.
Capital (3-22, 1-7 OAC) was led by Ryann Bunyak with 18 kills, Carlee Thompson with 39 assists and Abby Brunner with 39 digs.
Mount Union will graduate three seniors this season in
Allie Gunn (Olmsted Falls / Magnificat),
Jordin Kauffman (Avon) and
Ryann Kanable (Powell / Olentangy Liberty).
