WACO, Texas – The Mount Union football team had two members selected on the 2025 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III Coaches All-America Teams.
Senior OL
Giovanni Kennedy (Avon, OH/St. Edward) was named on the First Team, and senior DL
Kaleb Brown (La Plata, MD/La Plata) was named on the Second Team.
Kennedy anchored the offense that led the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) in scoring (43.5 ppg.) and total offense (476.0 ypg.). Mount Union's offense was top-15 in multiple categories in NCAA Division III, including scoring offense (13th), total offense (14th), and rushing offense (15th). This is Kennedy's second straight year earning All-America, the first from the AFCA. He was named First Team All-America by the AP and D3football.com in 2024 (those awards for 2025 have not yet been released). Kennedy earned All-OAC First Team for the third straight year in 2025.
Brown led the team and the conference in both sacks (10.5) and tackles for loss (17.5), totaling double-digit sacks for the second year in a row. He led a defense that was sixth in NCAA Division III in scoring defense, allowing only 12.2 points per game. Brown was named the OAC Defensive Lineman of the Year while earning All-OAC First Team for the second straight year. This is Browns' second career All-America honor, as he earned D3football.com All-America Third Team last season. Brown finished with 32 career sacks, ranking third in program history.
Mount Union (11-1) won its 36th (ninth straight) OAC title and sealed its 34th undefeated regular season. The Purple Raiders advanced to the NCAA Playoffs for an NCAA record 37th time.
