Men's Swimming: Raiders Maintain Lead Following Day Two at Wooster

WOOSTER, Ohio – Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team finished in first place following the second day at the Wooster Invitational on Friday evening.

The Purple Raiders finished with a team score of 1115 which is 45 points ahead of second place Rose-Hulman.

Top Finishers
  • 200-yard medley relay: team consisting of junior Angelo Lawrence (Mooresville, Ind. / Center Grove), freshman Trey Nickoli (Lexington), senior Jacob Hathaway (Lexington) and freshman Ethan Harvey (Macedonia / St. Ignatius) finished second and broke the school record with a time of 1:32.95
  • 100-yard butterfly: Harvey finished third with a time of 50.89
  • 200-yard freestyle: freshman Isaac Tennant (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Moon) won the event with a time of 1:42.91 and junior Cameron Burnett (Canfield) finished third with a time of 1:45.48
  • 100-yard breaststroke: Nickoli finished fourth with a time of 57.01
  • 100-yard backstroke: Hathaway finished second with a time of 50.64
  • 800-yard freestyle relay: team consisting of senior Lucas Starling (Lexington), Burnett, Tennant and Hathaway won the event with a time of 7:00.86

The Raiders are back in action tomorrow for the final day of the Wooster Invitational at Wooster High School with prelims starting at 10 a.m. followed by diving at 2 p.m. and finals at 5 p.m.
